Update: Version 1.11

4.3.2024
Alexander Knechtl

What's new in version 1.11?

Version 1.11 is our biggest update yet. We are pleased to present to you about 10 new features and a completely new module type, namely the exam module. As is typical of LearningSuite, we did not build just any feature.

We have rethought the way digital exams are created and are thus setting a new standard in the industry.

Overview of new features:

  • New module type: tests
  • Changelog course
  • SSO (single sign-on)
  • Exclude words from the search
  • “Coming soon” function for lessons
  • Login device settings in the account
  • Course visibility & retractable modules
  • 3 new languages: Italian, Spanish, French
  • Synchronization of lesson & page titles
  • A number of other improvements

New module: Exams

In addition to the learning module, an exam module can now also be created in LearningSuite. This makes it possible to bundle all types of verification in one comprehensive audit submission.

Our aim went beyond creating a simple standard multiple choice quiz.

Our goal was to develop an exam editor that is so versatile that it allows you to create complex university exams, but at the same time so intuitive and self-explanatory that even simple reviews can be implemented in just a few minutes and without prior guidance.

This was a challenging task, and so far there is no audit tool on the market that meets these requirements and could have served as a source of inspiration for us.

But we did it. That's why we're pleased to present the exam feature to you in this video. Our most comprehensive feature so far:

Course changelog

Changes in a new course version that has not yet been published are now visually displayed with the pen icon. A detailed view of the changes within the latest version is now also available via the change log. You can find them when you click on “Update course” and then on “View changes.”

SSO (single sign-on)

Single sign-on via OpenID Connect is now also supported. If you need single sign-on, please contact our support team via the HelpCenter.

Exclude words from the search

In the settings under “Transcripts & Subtitles”, you now have the option to remove words from the search that should not be found.

“Coming soon” for lessons

There is now a new option in the content drip for lessons: “Coming soon.” This makes it possible to show your members lessons that will be available in the future.

For these lessons, your members can enable them to be notified as soon as the lesson is available. In this way, your members always know when relevant content has been published for them.

Login device settings in the account

In the account settings, you can now clearly see which devices have logged in with your LearningSuite account and can also log out devices with immediate effect should you notice suspicious behavior.

Course visibility & retractable modules

Modules can now also be indented. This allows you to clearly visually identify sub-modules. This is also handy if you want to link to other related courses using link modules.

And if you have a very large course that links to several sub-courses, you now also have the option to hide these sub-courses in the course settings. This improves the user experience for your members, as they only have one course, which provides the structure and with which they can navigate, instead of finding multiple courses on the course dashboard.

3 new languages (IT, FR, ESP)

In the platform settings, it is now also possible to activate Spanish, French & Italian as a platform language under the “Supported languages” button.

And if you only use German as the language on your platform, for example, you can also check off English as a supported language there. As a result, all language selections disappear from the platform and there is only one platform language for all users.

Important note: The languages Spanish, French and Italian are currently still in beta. This means that up to now there has only been a focus on the correctness of the members' perspective. All texts from an admin perspective have been translated using artificial intelligence and may contain errors.

Synchronize lesson & page titles

By default, the lesson title is now synchronized with the page title of the first page. If you want a different track within the page, all you have to do is click on the sync icon and the sync will be canceled.

More improvements:

  • When creating a user, the language of the respective user can now be selected so that the login email is in the correct language
  • Images in the image gallery can now be dragged and dropped
  • Images in the editor can now be cropped
  • Some actions & triggers have been added to Zapier, such as deleting groups
  • Thumbnail images can now also be cropped afterwards
  • The microphone indicator in the video recorder has been optimized
  • A search has been added to the move popup to make it easier to find content
  • All locations where courses are displayed are now sorted by default according to the selected course order
  • In the “Modules” tab, you can now also search for modules within folders
  • Thumbnails can now be deleted
  • The groups & bundle popup has been visually optimized
  • Many illustrations have been optimized and adapted to a uniform standard
  • A number of other optimizations and improvements across the platform

We appreciate your feedback, which you can send us in our Facebook community or via chat in the HelpCenter.
